Ultraviolet Is Bad

Last night, rlyconfused got the urge to see Ultraviolet. He rounded up the usual suspects minus BEG. The follower that I am, I went along with them despite my incredible hesitance to see something I knew was going to be bad. Boy was I wrong.

I know Milla Jovovich is a decent actress since The Fifth Element is one of my favorite movies. But wow, and I thought the Resident Evil films were worse. The main draw I had to see it was that it was directed by Kurt Wimmer, the same man responsible for the incredibly cool Equilibrium. I don’t know what he did to make Ultraviolet bad, but everything was horrible. After the kid was introduced, I was this close to actually walking out of the theater. The only thing that stopped me was the certainty that I wasn’t going to get my money back and that walking out would be a waste of the $7.75 that I paid to see it.

The special effects weren’t good. The action scenes weren’t good, especially the final scene with the Equilibrium-style gunbattle knock-off. The story wasn’t even good either. I don’t know what else to say. This might just be one of the worst movies that I have ever seen. I knew it was going to be bad, not THAT bad.

“An unholy combination of comic book and video game, so awful that you’d swear it had been directed by Uwe Boll.” — Frank Swietek, ONE GUY’S OPINION

Rlyconfused, I want my money back!
