In my Yahoo! fantasy baseball league, I play with some pretty competitive players who know their baseball. The last two seasons I’ve lost in the World Series. It’s the Buffalo Bills all over again.
Anyway, looking at the standings heading into the playoffs, I noticed that this year in particular is very contestable.
My team “We Might Be Giants” is hovering in third place with a record of 131-127-15. Mind you, I was in last place a few months ago and I’ve been slowly fighting my way back. Take away the first and last place teams, and there are eight games separating eight teams.
Now that’s parity in baseball!

Congratulations to Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz for throwing a no-hitter in only his second start in the major leagues.
Buchholz helped lead the team to blank the Baltimore Orioles 10-0. The interesting thing to note is that the O’s remained the only team to not be shut out this season until Clay’s great outing.
