It was a nice surprise to see the weather widget in Netvibes updated. Also part of the site’s Essential Widgets, the calculator widget, which I don’t use, was updated too.
The first to get a facelift is the weather widget. Now, it provides a 4-day forecast, displays gorgeous realistic icons and shows the current date (and the local time as an option). You can also change the background by picking a color in the widget palette. We wanted to add an option to have a sunny weather every day, but our developers couldn’t find any API to do it 😉
The original post had a text emoticon, not the graphic one that WordPress automatically displayed on my site. For those unfamiliar, Netvibes is a personalized homepage, much like My Yahoo! or iGoogle.
