This Bakersfield, California Subdivision Might Be The Worst Designed Ever…

This subdivision at Pacheco Road and Gosford Road in Bakersfield, California might be the worst designed I have ever seen.

Minuses

  1. Just three main access streets, including no northern street and three smaller arterial streets that get you onto Ashe Road.
  2. Cul-de-sacs galore!

Pluses

  1. Two parks: Silver Creek Park and Wilderness Park (the latter sounding super ironic)
  2. Something that looks like a neighborhood center next to Silver Creek Park.
  3. Not many personal pools.

This place doesn’t look too desirable. If you want a crash course in designing a quintessential suburb, please study this…
