Symbiosis Gathering, a large multiday arts, music and spiritual gathering, returns to California after a four year absence to host four days and nights of deep relaxation and fun excitement at Woodward Reservoir Regional Park near Oakdale on September 22-25, 2016.
While music is one of the gathering’s biggest themes, performance art also takes center stage during the four-day event. SG recently announced its Performer Lineup, including many of the country’s top circus and dance troops (such as Vau de Vire Society, Wanderlust Circus, and Flynn Creek Circus) and performance artists (Pyronauts and Rose-City Acro Devils), to shock and awe attendees as part of its overall mission to entertain and inspire.
The assortment will more than likely fancy your palate even if you have a fairly particular one. If are looking for some all-in-one variety action, try Tourettes Without Regrets with its combination of circus, comedy and slam, and dance. If you want stage performances full of costume and theater, try Bad Unkl Sista. If you have dreamed on seeing “junkyard beatnik” as part of a live audience, try Shovelman who bounces between blues and psychedelic rock with his one-man-band act.
Complete Performance Lineup:

FKA Twigs, Gramatik, RL Grime, Santigold, Ta-ku, and Warpaint headline the festival’s music portion. SG also features numerous art installations and art boats (a first for me), environmental spaces, speakers and talks, workshops, world-renown yoga instructors, and lots of food to help the thousands of expected attendees reach their zen.
Additional details will be announced gradually closer to the festival dates.
