Sacramento’s indie music radio station Radio 94.7 takes music celebration to whole new level with its seasonal concert events. Next week on December 8, Radio 94.7 presents its 4th annual winter indie music showcase Electric Christmas at the brand new Golden 1 Center (home of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings) in downtown Sacramento.
Last year, Electric Christmas featured Bastille, Robert DeLong, Cold War Kids, Saint Motel and Marian Hill at a sold-out Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. For almost four scheduled hours, concertgoers will rock out to Capital Cities, Milky Chance, Glass Animals, The Naked and Famous, and Warpaint.
All VIP tickets are sold out. All early entry passes are sold out. All general admission floor tickets are sold out. As of today, only general admission lower bowl tickets are still available, and Radio 94.7 is still promoting the event with free ticket giveaways.
Most of the bands are making repeat appearances in Sacramento. Los Angeles duo Capital Cities and German band Milky Chance are definitely no strangers, having previously lit up the City of Trees on a few occasions. English indie rock quartet Glass Animals and New Zealand rockers The Naked and the Famous are also Sac veterans, the latter returning after an almost five year absence. Needless to say, a lot of people are looking forward to seeing and hearing these bands live again.
Warpaint, the all-female rock band from Los Angeles, is the sole exception. Warpaint’s recent single “New Song” has been playing almost nonstop on the radio since its official release a few months ago. The closest Sacramento residents have been to seeing them live has been in nearby San Francisco. But, local music fans won’t have to wait much longer to see them in-person.
Electric Christmas is an all-ages event. Doors open at 6:00 PM; early entry opens at 5:00 PM. The music officially starts at 6:30 PM. The music ends approximately at 10:10 PM.
